Participate 2.1.1 Collecting Reputable Digital Resources Quest

My recon source expedition was actually fun. I’m AMAZED by what is out there in terms of free analytics software - check out www.alexa.com!

I liked the following 3 websites due to (1)content, (2)entertainment factor & (3)ease/accessibiity of language - tone, word choice, conciseness:
*https://www.stopbadware.org/badware (What is badware? And, stop it NOW! - cool video)
*https://www.mywot.com/ (Web of Trust -keep bot websites from causing probs with your computer - totally FREE download)
*http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains (What are TLDs? Click here so you can see from where your info comes.)

As a digestable way to educate students on how to identify reputable digital resources (what they look like and what they don’t look like), I’d incorporate these 3 links in their introductory mini-lesson before the class really gets underway. I subscribe to the motto “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” - try to hedge and to divert potential problems before they occur.
