Differentiation in Student Assessment is no longer a "yearned for but lofty goal to consistently attain" with Web 2.0 Tools.
In a virtual classroom, online tools level the academic landscape allowing teachers to personalize learning by offering several sources for resources and several options for students to demonstrate mastery of the content for every course content module covered. In a traditional classroom, this type of learning customization is daunting to establish and almost improbable to maintain especially for every unit of content. With a wealth of Web 2.0 tools that speak to a gamut of learning objectives that are predicated upon sound teaching pedagogy, this type of instruction is the expectation. The unique learning requirements of special needs students can readily be met while enabling those students to still be completely participatory with fellow students as all learners work through the course content.
